Support and Wellbeing

Residents at Waterside Court can access a range of support services if they are struggling with their health or wellbeing. The University of Chester offers free wellbeing and mental health support through its Student Wellbeing Advisers, Mental Health Advisers and in-house counselling service. Residents can contact the Student Services Helpdesk on 01244 511550 or at studentservices@chester.ac.uk. The University also provides access to the Wisdom App, which offers live chat with a counsellor and a range of self-help tools, free of charge for all students. For 24-hour telephone support, residents can contact Samaritans on 116 123. Student Minds provides online mental health resources at studentminds.org.uk. In a mental health crisis, residents should contact their GP, call NHS 111 or attend the emergency department at the Countess of Chester Hospital, Liverpool Road, Chester, CH2 1UL.
