Falkland Fire Procedures

Our fire systems have been specifically designed for Falkland House, and therefore for your personal safety

You must ensure that you are not tampering with the alarms in your bedroom or communal areas, this includes covering them up, removing the outer casing or intentionally causing and activation

On hearing the alarm, you must leave the building immediately and go to the evacuation point opposite the main Reception entrance.

Do not run or stop to collect personal belongings.

If you are in the room where the fire is

1. Leave straight away, together with anybody else, then close the door.
2. Do not stay behind to try to put the fire out.
3. Close all doors behind you and leave the building by the nearest fire escape route.
4. Do not use the lift.
5. CALL THE FIRE BRIGADE – 999 using your mobile. Make sure you give them the full address of the property and do not hang up before they have confirmed it.
6. Inform a member of the Cloud Student Homes staff where the fire is.
7. Report to the fire assembly point

The assembly point is located CORNER OF DEVON AND FALKLAND STREET

For persons with disabilities you will have your own personal emergency evacuation plan – please ensure that you are following this accordingly
