Q: What happens at Stage 3?

At this point, your account is referred to an external debt collection agency. They will pursue the debt, and this may include legal action such as serving a Section 8 notice to end 
your tenancy. 

Q: Can I be evicted for non-payment? 
Yes. If you remain in debt for two months (based on instalment percentages in your tenancy), legal proceedings can begin to remove you from the property. 

Q: What if I clear the debt after being referred? 
If you pay the outstanding balance in full, the process stops. However, external agencies may still charge additional fees if action has already started.
